50s Rose

When I came across Jules Reid’s website, after one glance I realized her clothes were pure magic. I mean literally, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. Drawing her inspiration from people like Slim Aarons, Diana Vreeland, and Emilio Pucci, (I see a lot of Tory Burch influence here too) the designs are the perfect combination of vintage and modern. Every single piece of her collection has a 1960s Palm Beach glam feel that screams style, grace, and elegance. If that’s what your about, I’m sure you will love her collection as much as I do. And speaking of love, I hope you have a lovely day!

(PS-Fun Fact for all your fellow Kansans: Jules went to The University of Kansas!)

Poms Wonderful

It was a windy day in Kansas City (excuse the hair), and we had some fun with the Flamingo statues from Dutch Flowers, and this awesome pom pom dress that is $20! (A note on the flamingos: I’m considering getting a couple for my garden to scare off all of the squirrels and bunnies)! But, back to this TWENTY DOLLAR pom pom dress…I am head over heels for this dress. It is such a comfortable dress, and the little pom pom details make it so sweet for summer as an easy coverup or an even easier outfit for a quick lunch! Obsessed.

Living Royal

With Memorial Day on the horizon, we wanted to take this opportunity to say, “Thank you,” and remember the men and women who have sacrificed everything for our freedom. Here is a tribute that was very powerful from last year.

Matt and I are proudly wearing our Stars and Stripes socks given to us by Living Royal. God Bless America, and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Derby Day

We spent the Derby Day at Char Bar eating brunch and then launching into full on Derby-mode. We started by playing a round of bocce ball. Then we went on to make “gentleman’s bets” on the horses (Irish War Cry let me down). Afterwards we took pictures with and pet the beautiful mare that they brought to Char Bar, meanwhile I had a total fangirl moment when Molly Balloons made me a balloon fascinator headband/hat in lieu of a proper Derby hat. We followed up Char Bar with some fantastic mint juleps at Julep *of course*…and after that, we were spent.

Flower Girl

Let’s talk about how cute this red and white floral top is! Those sleeves though. When it came to styling this bad boy, I decided to keep it simple with white pants and these great earrings from Brynn Hudson. I also carried my red “Aspen” Purse for the People rattan bag (ADORE THIS COMPANY’S MISSION).
I hope you all are off to a great week, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Bumble (yes the dating app) had a quote on their Instagram story this week that said, “Women kick ass. When we all stick beside each other and support each other, amazing results happen.” Then they coined the term “FEMPIRE” and defined is as “Building an empire with bad ass women who you love and support and who love and support you.” This is what we are all trying to build as modern-day women, but why is it so hard to support and cheer on other women’s successes? Why do we secretly (or not so secretly) root for them to fail in their endeavors?

This should end now. Babes Support Babes. That’s all there is to it. Show your support for your fellow #bossbabes hustling every single day to build their FEMPIRE, whatever that looks like for her by wearing this shirt from Amelia’s Boutique.

And speaking of FEMPIRES, the adorable pink, white, and black bracelets that I am wearing around my wrist are from Sashka Co. Each bracelet is glass beaded and is handcrafted with love by female artisans in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. Each bracelet is carefully handmade bead by bead. Skill, passion, and some of the world’s finest glass and sterling silver beads go into each one. Proceeds from your purchase empower Nepali women artisans to rise above poverty through fair trade. How’s that for a Fempire?

Oversized Sweater

This sweater is so effortless and easy to wear over a swimsuit, a skirt, or skinny jeans. It’s oversized and roomy yet, it is made sexier by wearing it off-the-shoulder. It comes in three other colors. (I’m wearing the XS in white).
