I love two things in the summer: anything that looks like the French Riviera and big statement earrings!

This sunscreen is just tops! It goes on totally invisible, it’s weightless, scentless, makeup gripping, and it has an SPF of 40! Also it has red algae in it which helps protect against blue light emitted by electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. How cool is that?

I am in love with these linear drop earrings in this rose, tortoise shell, and white color. The acrylic hoops and thread-wrapped ovals are the perfect combination.

This is the only bag you’ll need for summer. It’s straw with contrast lining and woven straps, but the best thing about this classic bag is that it will go with all of your summer denim, dresses, and swimsuits.

These white espadrille mules are perfection. The top is cowhide and the bottom is braided jute. Bonus points: these are incredibly comfortable with their padded cork footbed. They literally go with everything!

I love these fun statement earrings! They are perfect for summer and they are a great tribute to the late Kate Spade who was a true gem of a person.

5 things you need for your upcoming summer vacations…

  1. This adorable top will be perfect to throw on with white jeans for a casual beachfront dinner.
  2. This is such a fun summer dress. I can’t wait to wear this for a romantic dinner in West Palm Beach.
  3. This is the cutest sarong! I love using a scarf or sarong for a swimsuit coverup. You can also tying it differently to make it into a lightweight dress.
  4. This hat is pretty much everything. Those colorful balls are soo cute and it’s only $22!
  5. There is something to be said for a “goes with everything” clutch, and this Lilly Pulitzer cork clutch is AMAZING! I’m totally in love.

I love candles: all candles. I especially love candles that have the ability to transport me back to places I’ve been or  forward to places I’m longing to go. These 5 candles have serious vacation vibes, and transformative powers that will make you happier, more relaxed, and ready to hit the slopes or take a walk on the beach.

{clockwise from top left}

  1. Dreaming of the Hamptons? By lighting this TOCCA candle in Montauk, you start to experience a cucumber and salty air scent that will take you to the scenic seaside.
  2. Like the ideal ski vacation, this LAFCO Feu De Bois Ski House candle blends the crisp, crystal mountain air and the odor of a cedar log fire with just a hint of evergreen fir that takes you to your very own luxurious alpine lodge.
  3. Craving some west coast flavor? This Voluspa Vermeil Casa Pacifica Tin Candle delivers California driftwood, sea salt, and shore brush in the prettiest little light blue tin.
  4. Feeling a little more Joshua Tree, a little less Big Sur? This NEST candle in Sahara Spice has a creamy mixture of cardamom, sandalwood, and ginger with a dab of Madagascar vanilla bean.
  5. Itching for a campout in Estes Park, Colorado? This Diptyque candle in Feu De Bois has a very light scent that smells of evergreens and a nice campfire.

5 things you need for your upcoming summer vacations…

  1. This cute peasant top doubles as a beach cover-up and the perfect dinner top…plus, you can never go wrong in classic blue and white stripes!

2. Okay, how cute are these flamingo earrings? I’m imagining them with an all white ensemble or to glam up jeans and a white tee.

3. This is the prettiest white top I’ve ever seen! I love the bell sleeves, and the gorgeous scalloped lace! It’s just perfect for vacation & a total must-have for summer.

4. I am a TOTAL sucker for lucite anything, and these fabulous lucite-looking earrings are dipped in 24k-gold! How FAB are these with every outfit? You won’t believe the price!

5. Every summer I gravitate towards gold shoes to wear with all of my Lilly Pulitzer clothing…and who better to get them from than the lady herself? These gold McKim sandals or a pair of Jack Rogers are my go-to summer shoes.

Georgina, Julia, and I had so much fun shooting for 1KC! We are absolutely smitten with their shirts: how cute is the Kansas City Honey shirt? And that tie-dye…I am a sucker for tie-dye! You can get your own 1KC shirt over on their site here!

Let’s talk about weeknight wines for a minute. Weeknight wines must be three things:

  1. Undemanding – just delicious and refreshing
  2. Inexpensive – under $20
  3. Relaxing – not antagonistic to your palette

Now put these in the context of spring/summer, and I have compiled a list of 6 “summer wines” that I think you will find delightfully undemanding, forgivably inexpensive, and extremely relaxing.

2009 Bogle Vineyards Chardonnay

The bold and oaky character of this fresh, creamy Chardonnay displays balance and finesse that pairs as superbly with simple vegetable shish-kebabs as it does with fiery chicken wings. $9

2013 Hogwash Rosé

It has crisp acidity and lively flavors of red berries, citrus, melon, and wet stone. Fire up the barbecue, because this rosé will be an excellent foil for spicy ribs, juicy burgers, and crunchy coleslaw. $16

Ruffino Prosecco

Packed with juicy melon and pear flavors topped with an aromatic kick, it’s a splendid sparkler for brunch buffets laden with fruit salads and ham and cheese omelets. $15

2012 Light Horse Pinot Noir

With aromas of floral and spice along with flavors of red berries and a silky texture, this is a wine you’ll want to drink any day with just about any dish. $14

2012 Layer Cake Malbec

This wine tastes of blueberry pie, black cherries, and brown spices with notes of coffee and chocolate. It’s a perfect companion to rich, spicy BBQ sauced-meats, empanadas, wood-fired pizzas, or grilled pepper- and onion-smothered flank steak.

2012 ONEHOPE Sauvignon Blanc

A wine by Robert Mondavi, Jr., every bottle of this crisp, pink grapefruit and grassy-noted sauvignon blanc results in a new tree being planted by American Forests. Serve with salmon, oysters, and summery berry desserts.

Beauty Brands: Hair Cut + Conditioning

I just love Beauty Brands Salon. Julie takes care of me and my hair while I’m there, and I always leave refreshed and looking/feeling great!

Yesterday was my trunk show for my men’s clothing line, Stag Harbor. I knew I wanted to get my hair done, and I knew Julie would do a great job. I also needed a hair cut, because my hair was getting a little too long and it was taking me forever to blow dry it!

After my deep conditioning treatment (which was awesome and only took about 10 minutes), I asked Julie to cut 3 inches off my hair. It seemed dramatic, but it was much need and I was still able to put my hair up in a ponytail to hit the gym. Julie made it look phenomenal, and then she curled it up for my big evening ahead.

Y’all, if you’re looking to get your hair done for the Holidays, Holiday Parties, etc- you should go Beauty Brands. The people are so friendly, and there are only 5 chairs so the experience is really imitate and the conversations are discreet.

Black IKAT

Today, I’m showing off another gorgeous top from Jules Reid. I love how easy these tops are, and the material y’all: the material is just FABULOUS! I went with this simple black and cream/white IKAT top, because it’s the perfect now and later top. When the temperature starts to drop, I can throw this on with a little jacket, a black mini skirt, tights, and boots, and be styled up for the fall and winter.

Neon Tassels

It was so fun shooting in the River Market Park! They recently put up some multicolored flags to entice people to utilize the park during these gorgeous days that we have been having lately.
This dress is so fun for summer! I love how the front is pretty simple, but the back has a fabulous dual layered cutaway that is lined with tassels on both sides. This dress would be perfect for a little summer dinner party or a trip to the beach. Go scoop up this dress for under $50. Also, this crescent moon pendant necklace from Ukiyology is such a fun item for summer outfits. I loved wearing it with this dress, but I can see it on REPEAT with jeans/jean shorts and basic tees for the summer. It has such an effortlessly cool vibe that I totally dig, and it’s about half the price of a very similar Lucky Stars necklace.
I hope you all have a great day, and thanks so much for stopping by!
